Kaitlin Allen is a research technician working in the Buys Lab. Kaitlin graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, where she worked in the laboratory of Sangeeta Bhatia studying the application of engineered bacterial circuits as cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. At MGH, she studies the effects of the NO-cGMP signaling pathway on pressure-related pathologies, particularly in the Weddell Seal. Kaitlin deployed to Antarctica in the fall for the 2015 field season, working to collect sample tissues from Weddell Seals for study in the lab. She will be attending veterinary school beginning in the fall of 2016.
